Both have been linked with the manager's job at the Premiership title holders following Brendan Rodgers' resignation on the start of the week.

The Manager's Stance on The Scottish Club

The Ipswich boss described Celtic as "a really big football club" but emphasized he is "deeply involved" of a "extensive rebuilding" with the Championship side.

The mid-thirties took charge of Ipswich in recent years and guided the team to the Premier League with consecutive elevations, but they managed only a handful of victories last campaign as they were demoted back to the Championship and they currently sit 12th in England's second tier.

"There have been any of those discussions," the London-born former Northern Ireland young player said when asked about being on the candidate list.

"This isn't a matter I have considered seriously, or where any part of my focus is this week.

"I possess a special job here at a special team. And we're at a really important stage of the campaign. Anything external hasn't reached my awareness."

Context and Contractual Aspects

It has been suggested that the manager would be open to speaking to Celtic given his childhood support.

"Growing up, we all have our preferences," he said when questioned about those. "It's unlikely everyone has to go around and declare what they used to be, but naturally it's a massive football club."

The coach signed a fresh multi-year deal in last year and was asked about his alleged £5m release clause.

"In every manager's contract, there are provisions," he responded. "I don't know what my specific terms are and, if I did, I wouldn't disclose you regardless!

"I tackle this role like I'll be Ipswich manager indefinitely. I know that's not always going to be the situation, but I will consistently do my best as while I am here."

Bellamy's Situation

Bellamy played for the Hoops on temporary transfer from the Magpies in the mid-2000s, but the ex- Wales striker is minded to finish the current World Cup qualification, a position that would effectively rule out the mid-forties from assuming the Celtic job.

Wales are currently third in their World Cup group behind group toppers the Red Devils and second-placed Macedonia.

Victories over Liechtenstein and their rivals in next month would book their place in the final qualifying round, but they are virtually guaranteed of reaching that stage, thanks to a productive European competition campaign, even if they not end up Group J second place.

Considering his present position, the Wales manager, whose agreement concludes after the European Championship, would be unavailable until after the qualifying matches at the minimum.
