Trump Welcomes Families of Injured Guard Members to White House

President Donald Trump announced on Sunday that he has invited the family of a National Guard member fatally shot last week to attend the presidential home.

He added that he contacted her parents and they were “heartbroken”.

Details on the Devastating Incident

Soldier Beckstrom, 20, was lost her life in a violent incident on last Wednesday in DC.

Her comrade, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, is still in the hospital in grave state.

Memorials across West Virginia have occurred in their memory.

White House Offer

The commander-in-chief stated he’s talked about a White House visit for the families of both members of the state Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a difficult moment, visit the White House. We’re going to honor Sarah,” Trump informed reporters. “And similarly with him, whether he recovers or not.”

Public Support

Mourners gathered over the past few days at a local school in the state to pay respects to Sarah.

Both she and Wolfe had been serving with the West Virginia National Guard as part of the president’s federal initiative to aid public safety in the capital.

Remembering the Soldier

“She was the kind of student that educators desired. She behaved with inner fortitude, a bright grin and a upbeat demeanor that lifted people around her,” the principal, the leader of her former high school, stated to the press. “She was caring, caring and always ready to help others.”

Memorial arrangements for Beckstrom are still being arranged.

Judicial Steps and Policy Revisions

Law enforcement have charged a twenty-nine-year-old individual from Afghanistan with one count of murder and charges of assault with intent to kill while armed.

The event caused the Trump administration to halt asylum applications and cease issuing entry permits to holders of travel documents.

Status of Wolfe

Wolfe, a resident of Martinsburg, began his service in early 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of his local high school, per the news agency.

He is still undergoing care and is “fighting for his life”, West Virginia governor Morrisey mentioned on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

The state’s top lawyer the attorney general stated on the program that she also intended to meet with Wolfe’s family.

Memory of Beckstrom

Sarah, from Summersville, graduated from Webster County high school in mid-2023 and began her service not long after, working as a law enforcement officer with distinction, as stated by the military.

“She had a lot of compassion and she absolutely had fortitude,” Morrisey informed the audience at the vigil. “Though her life was cut short, she has made an impact that’s going to last forever.”
