Football Analyst Chris Sutton Takes On Artist Murs in Top Flight Predictions

The Gunners' ten-match victorious run was ended by the Black Cats prior to the global break, but can the English top division leaders recover against north London rivals Spurs this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," stated soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still manage to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this term, against artificial intelligence, fans and a range of guests.

In the twelfth round, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

The singer's new album, the new release, is available on the weekend.

Football and Parenting Life

Olly is a talented soccer player as well as a successful singer and has been a star of several Soccer Aid matches down the years - but he is not planning a serious comeback as a player.

"{I recently played in a charity match the other night for a friend of mine," he said. "The team was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!

"I still love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my child or boy chooses to play instead."

Murs and his spouse Amelia Tank have two children, their daughter and Albert, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their manager.

"I won't push football on our kids but I've already told my wife that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be coaching their weekend soccer team," he added.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously owned a football club for a while too.

"My father coached with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I get it from. He coached our team for several years and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to be patient for their star's comeback from injury but their attack is already stronger with Pedro and Delap both back fit.

In my opinion this game will be fairly tight, however. Burnley are disciplined and their sole at Turf Moor losses so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.

This suggests a 1-1 draw to me, but I am in fact going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

The singer's prediction: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their past two matches - although both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which surprised me.

In contrast, the Hammers won two in a row before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they appear competitive again.

West Ham's only on the road win this season came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when their manager Nuno Espirito Santo was previously that team's coach.

So, what on earth do I go with here - will it be the Hammers continuing their streak under their manager, or Bournemouth responding?

I will go with the Cherries, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

Olly's prediction: Bournemouth are performing strongly but the visitors have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were considered one of the favourites for relegation before the season began, but they have surprised a few people under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three in their last four matches.

A family member told me to get Bees striker Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

The forward will likely score again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.

They have not had much fortune on the road this term, and the Seagulls are always strong at home. The visitors will attempt to attack on the break but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's team carry much more of a threat.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

Olly's view: It could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a many scores but it in reality turns out to be rather tight. 1-1

AI's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a massive game for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six games.

They have have lots of talent in their squad but it still seems like they could be sucked into a relegation fight.

As for the Black Cats, well they are the surprise package of the Premier League campaign so far.

The away side's performance in the two-all tie with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We have not seen anyone else disrupt the Gunners like that this season, and they were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice to do to support the Black Cats here, because they are obviously able of disrupting Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they beat the Blues at the end of October.

However I am not choose that. Instead, I truly need to carry on going against Sunderland with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their good outcomes because they clearly love to prove me wrong.

Looking at the home side's home form, the sole team they have lost to is Arsenal. Marco Silva's side will be extremely eager for a positive outcome, so I am going to say they will secure three points.

Sutton's prediction: 1-0

The guest's choice: I know Sunderland are doing well and also that Fulham are on a bad run... but they have still been decent at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a hard fixture to predict. The Reds have suffered seven of their past 10 matches in every tournament, but could they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
